On August 15th, the team from GLH spent the night in the Ohio State Reformatory.  We investigated the prison from 8pm until approximately 6am, August 16th.   During the investigation, we had a number of personal experiences which included being touched, audible growls, and clothing being grabbed.  Several times throughout the night, we did feel like we had some of the former inmates around us.  The night started off with a guided tour of the facility and while we were on the tour, Lon and Fiona spotted a shadow figure in the doorway of the old infirmary, located in the East Cell Block.  This room has been off limits since the prison closed in 1990 and has recently been opened for the ghost hunts.  Also while on the tour, in the area of solitary confinement, we heard what appeared to be a growl in the vicinity of where we were standing.  After the tour concluded, we made our way to the West Cell Block.  When began our investigation on level 1, and decided to stage ourselves in this area.  While we were in the area of cell 29, we all felt like we were being followed and the atmosphere became charged with energy.  While we were taking readings, the temperature was normal and the EMF meter remained at a constant level.  As we continued to monitor the area, Lon felt something run across the left side of his neck.  It was at this moment, that Fiona saw a shadow walk behind Lon.   Shortly after Lon got touched, Keith saw a figure standing next to Fiona, at which point Fiona had indicated that her hand had been touched.  We all acknowledged the fact that both Fiona and Lon had been touched, and that Keith had not.  Shortly after this was said, Keith experienced a tugging sensation on his jean shorts.  We attempted an EVP session for a few minutes, and nothing else ocurred in this area. 
    We continued our investigation moving on to solitary confinement, and slowly walked among the cells.  As we made our way around solitary, we stopped for a brief moment to take a photo or two.  While we stood there, both Lon and Keith heard what sounded like someone had burped.  After Keith and Lon realized that neither one of them burped, we decided to conduct some EVP work in this area.   After the area played itself out, we made our way around the other parts of the prison.   
    Some of the other areas we investigated were, the administrative buildings, warden's residence, basement, TB ward, chapel, central guard room, bullpen, and Jesus room.   None of these areas were active during our investigation. 
    We next made our way to the room known as the "chair room".  The room itself is a windowless room with a chair in the middle of the floor.  Investigators are encouraged to sit in the chair in total darkness and wait for any experiences to occur.  Keith sat in the chair to see what would happen.  While we were in the room in total darkness, Fiona indicated that she felt as if someone touched her.  From here, we made our way back to the west cell block, and proceeded to make our way to level 5.  While we were walking along the cell blocks on level 5, Lon felt as if something had passed between him and the railing, as if keeping him away from the railing itself.  
    At about 5:15 am. we went to the east cell block area, and staged ourselves on the benches across from the cells that are missing the bars (due to theft after the prison closed).  As we were sitting there, Lon stood up and indicated that he had witnessed several shadow people emerge from 8-10 of the cells, stopped outside the cell doors, turn to the right, and walk towards the showers.  We walked down to the showers and as we entered the room, we immediately encountered the smell of bar soap and felt the warm steam of the shower.  On previous trips to this area, it smelled very musty and dry.  We took several photos of the area, and while nothing was in the photos, we all did experience the change in the room.  The scent of soap lingered in the air for about 10-15 minutes, and then completely disappeared almost immediately.  The room returned to the dry and musty room, it had been up until this event.  
    The investigation concluded around 5:50 am, when the staff turned the lights back on.  All in all, the prison is an awesome place to investigate and was extremely active throughout the night.
